The treatment is particularly good around the eyes, on the face and to treat acne scarring.
This is a non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment with minimal downtime. It is safe & effective with proven results for skin regeneration
At Aesthetics by Dr Katherine, York prior to any treatment we will always discuss our treatment plan to ensure we are targeting your desired look and outcome. Once we have developed the plan we can start the treatments.
Polynucleotides are injected superficially under the skin where they start to work. I will apply topical anaesthetic to reduce discomfort. The recommended treatment regime is 3-4 treatments 2-3 weeks apart, with maintenance treatments after 6-9 months.

A. Polynucleotides are injectable treatments derived from highly purified salmon or trout DNA. Polynucleotides make up the building blocks of DNA/RNA which is crucial for cellular repair. This creates an optimal environment for Fibroblast growth which are responsible for tissue repair and regeneration. This also helps to reduce cellular damage.
When injected under the skin Polynucleotides improve skin elasticity and quality which can treat dark circles, fine lines and scarring.
A. As always at Aesthetics by Dr Katherine, York on arrival we will discuss your treatment goals and desired outcomes to formulate a treatment plan. You will need to complete medical and consent forms, if not already done. Please note Polynucleotides are effective, but limited, and so may not be suitable for all patients.
Once the forms are completed and we have a treatment plan in place photos will be taken. These are mandatory photos taken pre-treatment and will be stored confidentially with your medical records.
After applying numbing/local anaesthetic cream your face will be cleaned and injection sites may be marked out before commencing the Polynucleotide treatment.
A. If the treatments are in the same area eg face, I advise to wait for 2 weeks between treatments.

As Polynucleotides are made from naturally occurring substances the risk of allergy/anaphylaxis is very low.
A. You cannot have Polynucleotides if you have any of the following:
A. As your skin has been injected it is very normal to have some small red lumps at the injection sites. These should settle in approx. 1 hour. Bruising may occur, but this tends to be minimal and easily covered.
At Aesthetics by Dr Katherine, York it is advised not to consume alcohol, wear make up, exercise or use hot environments such as showers or gyms for 24 hours after your treatment. Plus no sunbeds or saunas for 48 hours. This is to reduce risk of infection and bruising.
A. There is minimal downtime, you will have some small blebs following your treatment which tend to reduce after a few hours. You may develop swelling, especially if treatment is around the eyes, and small bruises may occur. These tend to last a few days only.
